Thank you to all the students who visited the Periodicals Department/Ruth Schwartz Reading Room during the Midterm Extended Friday Evening Hours and to the Library staff members who made these evening hours possible!
Extended Friday Evening Hours will return on December 1st, 8th and 15th, just in time for finals.

Opposing Viewpoints Resource Center
In response to questions from students on a variety of topics of current social interest, the Library has arranged for the Opposing Viewpoints Resource Center to be available to FDU Library users for the next 30 days.
OVRC includes topic overviews, differing views, as well as magazine articles and links to approximately 2,000 websites, on 170 topics ranging from genetic engineering to censorship. You may select a topic from the list, or type in your keywords.
If you would like to try out OVRC, please ask any librarian to log you on.
Library FAQs
Why should I go to the Library? Everything's on Google.
While the web is a wonderful online resource with many uses, it is normally not the best place to easily and quickly find the scholarly information you need for your academic research. Your Library offers a wide variety of print, online and media resources in a collection developed just for you.
However, the web is a part of the research process, and just as your librarians can recommend the best books and articles for your research, they can also help you to effectively find the best websites for your research.
I have a really busy schedule - when is the Library open?
The Library is open 7 days - approximately 90 hours - a week. The only Fall semester closing is for Thanksgiving. You can always find the Library hours for all the FDU Libraries on the Library web page.
Will anyone be at the Library? I don't want to be the only one!
Don't worry, you won't be alone - 11,477 people visited the Weiner Library during the month of October. On a typical afternoon or evening, 100 students or more are likely to be @ the Library.
