For the viewers who enjoyed James Wan and Leigh Whannell's screenplays for the previous Saw films, Saw III proves to be just as sadistic. From the very start of the film, Detective Matthews' (Donnie Wahlberg) agonizing screams are heard while we watch him escape the classic leg-shackle-and-a-saw scenario. Not wasting any time, another "test subject" is placed next to a bomb with chains hooked into his flesh.

In the past two years, films like Hostel and The Descent helped the Saw series raise the bar for the horror genre. The first time watching Saw, it was hard to believe certain scenes were allowed on the screen; but as each movie premiered, it seemed like they just pushed the limits even higher.

Jigsaw's (Tobin Bell) apprentice, Amanda (Shawnee Smith), is put under a final test while Jeff (Angus Macfadyen), undergoes the "obstacle course from hell." Consumed with anger and hatred for the driver who killed his son, Jeff must learn to forgive the people involved. If he does, everything will be fine. If not… he'll lose more than just the game.

If you can stomach the combined gore of the first two films and the amount of blood from Kill Bill, Saw III is a must see. From the first scene to the very last, the audience will be left in a stupor, not being able to close their eyes but wanting nothing more than to look away.
